No prior experience is needed—Hoodland Fire will provide you with all the training and skills necessary to deliver high-quality emergency medical care and fire suppression services to the residents and visitors of the communities we serve.
Who We Are:
Hoodland Fire District #74 is a combination department, meaning we are made up of both career and volunteer staff who respond to fire and medical emergencies. We respond to approximately 1,000 calls for service each year.
What We’re Looking For:
We are seeking responsible, physically and mentally capable, and team-oriented individuals who are eager to train and serve as volunteer firefighters. Volunteers play a vital role in helping us meet the needs of the community, working side-by-side with our career personnel to ensure quick and efficient responses to emergencies.

Benefits We Provide
As a volunteer with Hoodland Fire District #74, you will receive comprehensive training in a wide range of emergency response skills, including:

When will Hoodland Fire be accepting applications?

Applications are always accepted! We begin our volunteer recruitment campaign in the summer in preparation for our Fall Training Academy.
What does it take to become a Volunteer Firefighter?
Answer:
To become a volunteer firefighter with Hoodland Fire, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Be eligible to work in the United States
- Pass a national, state, and local criminal background check
- Have a valid driver’s license and be subject to a driving record review
What will be required of me?
Answer:
As a volunteer firefighter, you will need to complete the following requirements:
- Drug screening
- Medical physical examination
- Physical agility testing
- Training attendance (mandatory for all volunteers)
- Response to alarms when available
