Support Group

The Support Group is a dedicated team of spouses, friends, and community members committed to supporting the Fire District’s personnel.

This invaluable group plays a vital role by planning and providing meals, hydration, and other essential support during large-scale incidents such as:

  • House fires
  • Extreme weather events
  • Extended rescues
  • Long-duration activities
  • Other major events

In addition to supporting emergency operations, the Support Group is actively involved in community activities and fundraising efforts. One of their key initiatives is ensuring that every child in the Hoodland Fire District wears a bicycle helmet while riding their bike, promoting safety in the community.

The Support Group also spreads joy throughout the Fire District by organizing a Christmas Party and decorating the fire stations, helping to bring holiday cheer to the department and strengthen the sense of camaraderie.

The Support Group does an exceptional job keeping our firefighters well-fed, warm, and dry, allowing them to remain in peak condition as they respond to emergencies.

We are always eager to welcome new members who share our commitment to this important mission. If you are interested in joining, please email gretchenmcabery@hoodlandfire.gov.
