FREE Chimney Brushes Available for Loan
Soot and creosote needs to be removed.
Hoodland Fire District is pleased to offer FREE chimney brushes to residents and property owners within the district!
If you need to clean your chimney, you can borrow the necessary equipment from us at no charge. This includes:
- Chimney brushes
- 6-foot fiberglass rigid extension rods
To borrow the brushes, simply come by the Hoodland Fire's Main Station 69634 E Hwy 26, Welches, OR during business hours.
How It Works:
- No charge to borrow the equipment.
- Return the brush within 24 hours so that other residents can use it.
- Measure your chimney before coming in to ensure you select the correct size brush. The right size is crucial for safe and effective cleaning (The brush should be in direct contact with the sides of the flue without getting stuck.)
Measure the diameter of your chimney in inches.

What to Do:
- Visit Hoodland Fire's Main Station to check out a chimney brush.
- Fill out the checkout form to record your loan.
- Take the correct brush size based on your chimney measurements.
- Return the brush within 24 hours. (We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring the brushes are available for all residents to use!)
Clean your chimney 2 x per year to reduce your risk of a chimney fire!
