Today's Fire Danger HIGH

Fire Season is in effect and the Hoodland Fire District is under a Regulated Closure.  When fire season goes into effect, some activities in the great outdoors are prone to start fires. In an effort to prevent these fires from starting, the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) imposes restrictions pertaining to public and work related activities.

ODF's HIGH FIRE DANGER RESTRICTIONS

  • No Debris Burning
  • No Smoking
  • Campfires in designated locations
  • Appliances using bottled fuels allowed
  • No Fireworks
  • No exploding targets, tracer ammunition or sky lanterns
  • No mowing of dry, cured grass 1pm to 8pm.
  • No power saws 1pm to 8pm
  • Equip each power saw with a shovel and fire extinguisher or gallon of water
  • Provide a 1-hour fire watch after the use of each power saw
  • No cutting, welding or grinding 1pm to 8pm
  • Cutting, welding or grinding must be done in a clear area with a water supply
  • Electric fences must be UL approved
  • No off-road driving between 1 PM and 8 PM
  • All vehicles must have a shovel and fire extinguisher or gallon of water. ATV's and motorcycles must be equipped with a fire extinguisher
  • Any other spark emitting internal combustion engine not specifically mentioned is prohibited 1pm to 8pm

Per the ODF Proclamation Recreational Fires, including campfires, charcoal fires, cooking fires and warming fires are permitted all day, with landowner approval, during low fire danger. Recreational Fires, including campfires, charcoal fires, cooking fires and warming fires are prohibited in moderate fire danger and high fire danger, except at locations designated by the forester. All Recreational Fires are prohibited in extreme fire danger.
